Wedding Party (Groomsmen)

Dave Evans

Dave Evans (Best Man) is Robbie’s older (and only) brother.

Dave and Robbie were mortal enemies for approximately fourteen years- an experience heightened by a decade of room-sharing, having crushes on the same girls, etc- and have been dear friends ever since. When together, Dave and Robbie enjoy making fun of one another, play-fighting (think bear cubs), and arguing about who is “winning” (whatever that means). Dave’s girlfriend and date to the wedding is Kim Stone, a former Stanford track and field star currently in Med School. Kim is generally regarded as super-human.

Danny is Chrissy’s older brother.

Danny is Chrissy’s older (and only) sibling. He is one week younger than Robbie, which is odd because it means that Chrissy is marrying someone older than her older brother. Danny is an avid mountain biker and currently lives in Huntington Beach, CA working as a top-notch structural engineer. Danny set the precedent for Chrissy by going to Cal-Poly in San Luis Obispo.

Collin is Robbie’s Best Friend.

Collin and Robbie have been best friends for almost ten uninterrupted years, even though they have lived far apart for most of that time. They were in the same bible study in high school, served together as counselors at Sonshine Ministries summer camp, and lived together in Lake Tahoe. They are accountability partners and waterski buddies, haircutters and relationship couselors. Robbie considers Collin a brother, which is good, because he goes on more than half of the Butcher family’s vacations. Robbie is very close to the entire family, which includes Collin’s parents Donna and Mike, brothers Brad and Brian, and Brad’s wife Annelisa.

Robert is a close friend of Robbie’s.

Along with Collin, Robert is the final leg of what Robbie often refers to as his “holy trinity of best friends.” Friends for over 15 years despite going to different junior highs, high schools, and colleges, Robert and Robbie have always had a special relationship. They are probably most famous for doing “Rob and Rob” boy scout skits at summer camp when they were in junior high. Robbie and Robert are like two parts of the same soul (consider their names: Robert William and Robert Wilson). If Robbie is the studious and cautious ‘Yin’, Robert is his crazy ‘Yang.’

Robbie (Lewis) is a close friend of Robbie (Evans).

Robbie and Robbie served together at Sonshine Ministries houseboating camp and they have remained buddies ever since. They are also both named Robbie- so they call this one Red Robbie, sometimes Robbie Red (he has red hair, you see). Robbie (Evans) was a groomsman in Robbie (Lewis)’s wedding last fall. Robbie Red is a groomsman for Robbie Evans this fall. Next fall, they will have to try something new.

Ryan Adcock is a close friend of Robbie.

They both taugh children’s ski school at Northstar-at-Tahoe. They had never met before the season, and to make sure he got on Ryan’s good side, Robbie cooked him a full three-course meal every night for the first two weeks they were living together. Unfortunately, Robbie also mistakenly set the old (not-working) thermostat to 65 degrees, which meant that he and Ryan lived in a near-freezing house for six days before they realized they had turned on the wrong one. Somehow, they remained friends.
